Barbara Marigold creates one of a kind jackets and coats from a richly varied collection of textiles gathered over time. Her materials range from silk, satin, and fine wool to linen, alpaca, and cashmere, often incorporating vintage fabrics, designer remnants, hand dyed cloth, international designs and intricate details like Chinese embroidery.

Her process is rooted in transformation. She takes materials that once existed in other forms and reshapes them into garments with structure, movement, and presence. Each piece is composed with a careful balance of color, texture, and craftsmanship, allowing the history within the fabric to remain felt while becoming something entirely new.
 
The result is a body of work that is elegant, distinctive, and deeply expressive.

Whether soft and flowing or bold and structured, each woven work is made with purpose and presence.

Barbara Marigold

Founded by local fiber artist Barbara Marigold, Marigold Weaving Studio is the culmination of a lifelong love for texture, color, and craftsmanship. Barbara’s journey began with custom knitting, moved into intricate embroidery, and truly came to life when she discovered the art of weaving. Today, she brings all of those skills together through designing and sewing garments that reflect both artistry and individuality.

Barbara incorporates her handwoven textiles into coats, jackets, and other fabulous one-of-a-kind pieces—blending function with beauty in every stitch. Each garment is created with care in her Santa Fe studio and often tailored to fit the individual wearer.

In addition to wearable art, Barbara also weaves rugs, shawls, and scarves, creating pieces that celebrate the full creative potential of the loom.
